The new group call features that WhatsApp has added make group calls much more engaging and easier to plan.
Call scheduling, a feature of the Meta-owned messaging app, lets users schedule group calls with friends or coworkers at a specific time and date without ever leaving the Calls tab. Just press the “+” button, pick Schedule Call, and then pick the time, date, and if it will be a video or audio call.
You can add the event to your own calendar, share a call link, and invite specific people or entire groups. To ensure that no one misses the conversation, WhatsApp will remind everyone when the time comes.
Keeping Calls on Schedule
To make it easier to manage who is joining, the Calls tab now displays all of your scheduled calls along with a list of attendees. Calls are listed under upcoming events on the Calls tab after they are scheduled. To ensure that no one is left out, WhatsApp notifies all participants just before the call starts.
It is ideal for tracking late arrivals because, if you have shared a call link, you will receive a notification whenever someone joins using that link.
Additional Ways to Get Involved
Additionally, the update adds a feature that allows participants to raise their hands. In order to prevent people from talking over one another during a call, participants can now “raise their hand” to indicate when they would like to speak. Additionally, there is a new feature for emoji reactions that allows you to reply without breaking the conversation. It’s ideal for expressing agreement or adding a quick laugh.
Privacy Still Comes First
As usual, WhatsApp claims that end-to-end encryption protects all private calls, guaranteeing that users’ conversations are secure and private.
Users worldwide are beginning to receive the group call update, which should be accessible to everyone in the next few days.
